Neoliberalism, initially presented as a global economic system benefiting the US, ultimately led to a massive redistribution of wealth (tens of trillions of dollars) from the working and middle classes to the wealthy. This created the conditions for authoritarian capitalism, where oligarchs control elections, media, and resources, moving away from democracy.

During the course of neoliberalism, tens of trillions of dollars were redistributed from the working and middle class... neoliberalism was always going to give birth to authoritarian capitalism. Eventually, those people who were gaining all that redistributed wealth... they're not going to be on board with democracy... they want to get rid of that.

The Trump administration's aggressive immigration policies and ICE raids are not aimed at eliminating all immigrants, as the economy relies on their labor. Instead, the goal is to create a 'permanent underclass' that the government can 'rent out' cheaply to wealthy corporations, while simultaneously using the violence of these raids to intimidate the general populace.

What they've actually been doing with immigrants and with these ICE raids, it's a few different things. One, they want to create a permanent underclass. They want to get in on the business of loaning out immigrants on the cheap to the wealthy people. Our economy doesn't work if you get rid of all the immigrants... the government can round them up and then rent them out to the wealthy.

The systematic freezing of funds and dismantling of government agencies (e.g., HHS, health, environmental protection) is framed as 'organized crime.' This 'plundering of the public good' creates a 'survival of the fittest' environment where essential services and information are withheld from the general public, while the wealthy remain protected.

Fascism is organized crime... what we are watching is a complete change, a revolution in terms of how funding is used in this country... every agency that has ever been funded and created to help all of us live better lives... they are being plundered. That's the entire point is that it is being turned into a survival of the fittest.

Many figures within the right-wing, including Trump, are characterized by deep self-loathing, grievance, and sociopathic tendencies. They project their internal misery onto society, finding joy in making others suffer. This psychological profile explains their cruelty and indifference to public welfare, as well as their attraction to power and financial incentives.

The right-wing is a psychosexual disaster. They do not these are not well people... The rightwing is animated by a a deep deep self-loathing. They do not like themselves. They consider themselves failures... they're so miserable as human beings, the only joy that they actually get is making other people unhappy and suffer.

Despite narratives of extreme division, a vast majority (60-80%) of Americans actually agree on progressive directions for the country. However, the Democratic Party, beholden to corporate donors and strategists, has become 'conservative' by only offering to 'save what remains' rather than articulating a bold, left-leaning vision that addresses material conditions, thus failing to represent the public's actual desires.

I've been talking about what I call the the fake polarization of America because what do we hear? We're more divided than ever... If you actually look at the issues, the most controversial issues, it's a it's a it's a plurality of people. It's 60 to 80% who all agree on the direction of the country. And the direction should be to the left.
