Epstein obtained a fake Austrian passport in 1982. He was a business partner to Stan Pottinger (known for moving CIA money during Iran-Contra) and a protégé to Douglas Lee (weapons contractor). He ran in circles with Adnan Khashoggi (Iran-Contra banker). He had an 'incredibly close relationship' with Ehud Barak, who played a 'central role' in Iran-Contra and was an Israeli intelligence official. An FBI report from October 2020 stated a source was convinced Epstein was a 'co-opted Mossad agent.'

Grim suggests that Epstein's influence might have been such that intelligence agencies like Mossad were 'working for Epstein' rather than him merely being an agent. He argues that at the 'top global levels,' powerful figures can direct the services of various agencies. Epstein's role was not about 'filling out a W9 and sending it into Mossad,' but rather operating in a 'gray zone' as a middleman, facilitating cyber security deals globally and leveraging his relationships with the Israeli government to legitimize operations that might otherwise be considered 'gangster' activities.

Grim states, 'It's more like... that MSAD was working for Epstein.' He describes Epstein as 'a very valuable asset' who knew how to move money, do money laundering, and weapons/commodities trafficking. Epstein was 'central to the kind of expansion of the Israeli cyber weapons program' alongside Ehud Barak, striking deals with countries like Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Mongolia.

Alan Dershowitz, who represented Epstein, strongly denies any intelligence connection, arguing that Epstein would have disclosed such information if it could have helped him avoid prison. Dershowitz claims he repeatedly asked Epstein for anything that could secure a better deal, including intelligence ties, and Epstein never mentioned it. He highlights that Epstein hated the 'sweetheart deal' he received (18 months) and would have done anything to avoid jail time. Dershowitz also points out that Epstein's close relationship with Ehud Barak developed *after* his initial conviction, suggesting any potential recruitment would have been later.

Dershowitz states, 'If he had told me he worked for the Mossad, for the CIA, he was an intelligence source. It would have been a slam dunk for me to go to whoever I had to go to... and I would have gotten him a deal with no time at all.' He adds that Epstein 'hated me before he died' for the deal he got. Dershowitz notes Epstein didn't meet Barak until 'after he pleads guilty.'

He explains that hundreds of millions, potentially billions, of dollars were stashed in secret slush funds controlled by Israelis and the CIA, generated from upselling weapons to Iran. Epstein was 'right in the middle of all of that,' emerging with substantial wealth and connections. These funds were then moved through shell companies to avoid detection. Grim also links Epstein to Les Wexner, stating Epstein moved Iran-Contra planes to Columbus, Ohio, for Wexner's use, establishing a 'direct line' from Iran-Contra criminality to Epstein's later financial power.

Grim states, 'during Iran Contra, hundreds of millions, eventually up to a couple billion dollars were stashed away in these... secret slush funds... controlled mostly by the Israelis.' He adds, 'Epstein's right in the middle of all of that.' He claims Epstein 'moved those planes to Columbus, Ohio so less Wexter could use them for a couple of years.'
