Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat, publicly supported Trump's actions against Iran and expressed willingness to vote against the War Powers Act. The host, Fred Wellman, a veteran, views this as Fetterman smearing his own party and questioning the patriotism of those who demand congressional approval for war, arguing it's a betrayal of populist ideals.

Fetterman stated, 'I'm going to be the only Democrat that's going to continue to support those efforts because I can't imagine why we can't agree that it's a good thing.' Laura Brill of The Civic Center highlights that voter registration, not just turnout, is a major barrier for young people. Only 30% of 18-year-olds typically register in midterms, but once registered, they turn out at high rates (over 75% in presidential years). High school is identified as the last universal touchpoint for registration before students disperse.

Brill noted, 'In midterms, 30% typically of 18 year olds are registered to vote... when young people do register in big elections, they turn out at very high rates.' She emphasized, 'high school that's really why we're so focused on high school because that is the last time that everybody is going to be together before they turn 18.'

The proposed SAVE Act would mandate a narrow list of documents (e.g., passport, birth certificate) for voter registration, excluding driver's licenses. This would significantly impede young people, many of whom lack these documents or find it costly and time-consuming to obtain them, effectively blocking millions of eligible youth from registering.

Brill explained, 'The Save Act... would require for voter registration that you have a very narrow list of documents to prove your citizenship... driver's license would not do.' She added, 'it's expensive and time consuming to get these documents if you don't have them... almost $50 and I think 25 days to to get it.'

Following Pope Leo's speech condemning war, Pentagon officials reportedly requested an 'unusual' and 'unpleasant' meeting with Vatican representatives in Washington D.C. Reports suggest the Pentagon delivered a 'bitter lecture,' warning the church to 'take its side.' The host interprets this as a threat from a Department of Defense led by a 'white Christian nationalist.'

A news report stated, 'a meeting was requested by the Pentagon with Vatican officials based in Washington DC. That's highly unusual.' A Vatican source described it as 'most unpleasant and confrontational.' Wellman asserted, 'someone in the Pentagon which is now led by a white Christian nationalist Pete Hexath... didn't bring the Pope's ambassador in the DoD to threaten him, you're fools.'
