Trump drops SHOCKING election announcement we’ve FEARED

Donald Trump has publicly stated that the 'Save America Act' is his sole legislative priority, insisting that no other legislation should pass if it doesn't. He frames it as a measure to prevent cheating and respond to public demand, promising electoral victories if passed.

If you get this, your midterms and they know it for two reasons. Number one, they won't be able to cheat. And number two, the people are demanding it... And if you send it up that you're going to win the midterms at levels that you can't even believe and you're going to win every election for a long time... his sole priority is going to be the Save Act.

The 'Save Act' is not a static bill but a 'moving target' that has significantly expanded its scope. Initially, it focused on proof of citizenship for voter registration, which would disenfranchise millions, including married women who changed names. A later version added photo ID requirements and made election officials criminally liable for mistakes. Most recently, Trump's 'strong version' includes banning most mail-in voting and explicitly targeting the trans community, unrelated to voting, as a culture war tactic.

the original Save Act was... imposed a proof of citizenship requirement that would disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans including a large number... of married women who had changed their last names. a new version... added a photo ID requirement, but it kept the proof of citizenship law... as well as several other provisions like um making election officials potentially criminally liable for mistakes they might make. Donald Trump has further evolved it and insisting now that there is a weak version... and presumably a strong version... which would, among other things, ban all mail-in voting... and most recently would target the trans community.

Mark Elias outlines a progression of Trump's actions: rhetoric, extreme rhetoric, court challenges, and then violence. Given the 'Save Act' cannot pass Congress, Elias predicts Trump will issue an executive order to unilaterally implement its provisions. This executive order, though likely to be challenged and overturned in court, would serve as a 'permission structure' for Trump to incite actions such as the seizure of ballot boxes or the surrounding of polling locations by government or external actors.

Donald Trump goes through a progression. He starts with rhetoric, then the rhetoric gets really extreme, then it goes to the courts, and then there's violence. what's going to happen is he's going to issue an executive order... that is going to try to implement all of the things that he has said that he wants the House and Senate to do, but he doesn't have the authority to do it. So, it's going to get challenged in court immediately... And we will win. And then what that is lattering up to is the permission structure for him to then incite whether it's people on the inside of government or outside of government, the seizure of ballot boxes, the surrounding of polling locations.
