New Wife Shot Dead by Angry Husband Over 'Nagging'

Upon being located, Benjamin Whitaker initially provided vague and inconsistent answers about his whereabouts and activities. Under persistent questioning, he eventually confessed to murdering his wife, detailing the argument, his drinking, and retrieving the weapon.

Whitaker claimed he was 'walking around the woods' since Monday evening. He then admitted to a 'very bad thing,' stating his wife's 'nagging' and his 'several drinks' led him to get his pistol and shoot her three times in the kitchen.

Whitaker provided specific details about the shooting, including the weapon used, the number of shots, and his actions immediately after, such as fleeing to his father's land with multiple weapons. He also described securing the back door before leaving.

Whitaker stated he retrieved his pistol from the nightstand, shot Tiffany three times while she was standing, then fled with the 9mm pistol, an H&K .40 caliber, an AR-15, and knives in his truck. He secured the back door with a knob lock.

Despite his confession, Whitaker's first trial resulted in a hung jury. However, he was convicted in a subsequent trial and received a life sentence without parole. Tiffany's family honored her memory by establishing a foundation dedicated to domestic violence awareness.
