The European Parliament passed a resolution telling Albania to reverse laws facilitating projects like the Kushner-Trump resort, threatening its EU accession momentum if it proceeds without proper environmental impact assessments.

The European Parliament on Wednesday telling Albania, by way of a resolution that was adopted on the 2025 Commission report on Albania, that Prime Minister Edi Rama in Albania needs to reverse reverse that country's laws and positions when it comes to the ability of projects like Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump's insane 10,000 bed luxury resort in environmental wetlands that historically were protected.

Tens of thousands of Albanians are protesting daily against the proposed Kushner-Trump project and broader government corruption, specifically targeting Prime Minister Edi Rama's "strategic investment fund" which he controls and uses to approve projects for billionaire friends.

The Flamingo Revolution is is essentially about government corruption and overreach... it was a unilateral deal between Edi Rama's government and Affinity Partners who is the private equity fund of Jared Kushner. Edi Rama's government has created this quote-unquote strategic investment fund that he also appointed himself the leader of. And apparently, he is the only one who can determine if an investment is strategic enough. And shockingly, these often involve billionaire friends of his.

Leaked documents reveal the proposed resort on Sazan Island and Zvernets includes ultra-luxury hotels (Cheval Blanc, Cipriani), a mega-yacht marina (100+ meters), an equestrian center, and a "life extension therapeutic center," all planned for protected wildlands with acknowledged major environmental impacts.

I was fortunate enough to leak some some documents recently which show that the hotels that will likely be going into the area or at least purportedly going into the area are businesses like Cheval Blanc, Cipriani, you know, the highest of the high end. But on top of that they also claim to have a marina which will only support mega yachts. The environment they understand there will be major environmental impacts. In fact, they even break out various groups in the document that they expect expect pushback from like Eco Albania.

A significant driver of the protests is the government's lack of transparency regarding the deal, including the absence of public environmental impact studies and the suspicious timing and rollout of the project, which "smacks of pay-to-play and corruption."

Part of the drive for the protesting has been a lack of transparency. Yes, it is a anti-corruption movement. Because this whole deal with Ivanka and Jared stinks to high heaven. The timing of it, the roll out of it. I mean, it really smacks of pay-to-play and it smacks of corruption. There's no environmental impact studies. There's no disclosure of how this deal came to be.
