Epstein survivors hold MUST-SEE hearing

Oversight Democrats assert that Jeffrey Epstein's extensive sex trafficking operation could have been stopped had authorities listened to early reports. Maria Farmer reported Epstein to the FBI in 1996, but her report was ignored. Later, Alex Acosta, then U.S. Attorney, overruled his own prosecutors to grant Epstein a secret 'sweetheart deal' in 2008, which allowed him to continue assaulting women and expand his global network.

Despite the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Department of Justice (DOJ) released documents that exposed survivors' names, social security numbers, addresses, and intimate details of their abuse. This occurred even after lawyers provided lists of names to be redacted, leading to severe re-traumatization for many who had kept their abuse private.

This perception is fueled by the lenient treatment of Epstein, the secret deals, and the continued withholding of information and lack of prosecutions for co-conspirators.

Courtney Wild recounts how the government appeared to negotiate with Epstein's lawyers to 'make him happy' rather than pursuing justice for 40 abused children. Spencer Kuvin, an attorney for survivors, states that the non-prosecution agreement was 'the worst ever executed' and sent a message that 'accountability is negotiable if you are rich and powerful.'

Epstein and his network exploited financial and immigration systems to facilitate their crimes. This included using modeling agencies to recruit women with promises of careers, obtaining visas under false pretenses, and leveraging financial dependency and immigration status to control victims.

Rosa describes how she was recruited from Uzbekistan by a modeling agent, brought to the U.S. with an O-1 visa obtained under questionable circumstances, and then controlled by the agency's claims of debt. Representative Frost highlights how Epstein facilitated visas, university admissions, and jobs as a premise for trafficking, and how sham marriages were arranged for immigration purposes.

There is a strong demand for the full, unredacted release of all Epstein files and for investigations and prosecutions of everyone involved, including those who enabled financial crimes, hid facts, or continue to shield powerful individuals. This includes former Attorney General Pam Bondi and current Attorney General Merrick Garland for their perceived inaction or obstruction.

Amanda Roberts demands Congress hold the DOJ accountable, continue state investigations, issue further subpoenas for alleged co-conspirators, and 'follow the money' through financial records. Representative Garcia explicitly calls out Merrick Garland for doing 'little to nothing' and demands Pam Bondi testify under oath on video.
