Paramount Global, owned by the MAGA-aligned Ellison family, is purchasing Warner Bros. Discovery, a move that raises significant questions about the future of CNN and the broader legacy media landscape. Don Lemon suggests the new owners may not prioritize CNN's traditional role, while Donald Trump himself has a vested interest in the network's narrative.

Host states, 'Warner Brothers Discovery... is being bought by another gigantic media company, which is Paramount... owned by the Ellison's, who are MAGA Donald Trump supporters and friends. And the Paramount, the Ellison, they don't care about CNN. You know who cares about CNN? Donald Trump cares about CNN.'

Reports from NPR and MSNBC indicate that the Department of Justice allegedly scrubbed or redacted portions of the Epstein files related to Donald Trump. This contrasts with the lack of redaction for victims' privacy, leading to accusations that powerful individuals, potentially including the former president, are being protected.

A guest states, 'this is something that I heard actually from a victim of Epstein... we need to make sure that we see everything that this can't be a situation where they are protecting powerful people and potentially even the president of the United States... their privacy their addresses or or or photos of them those were not redacted those were not blocked but yet somehow we see powerful people them being protected through this process.'

Democrats on the Oversight Committee accuse Republicans of hypocrisy in their handling of the Epstein investigation. While aggressively deposing the Clintons, Republicans allegedly failed to show up for the deposition of Les Wexner (intimately involved with Epstein) and are reluctant to call Donald Trump, despite his frequent appearance in the files. They also point to Pam Bondi's alleged efforts to slow down file releases and spy on Congress.

Congressman Garcia states, 'Republicans have now set a new precedent which is to bring in presidents and former presidents to testify. So, we're once again going to make that call... We are now asking and demanding that President Trump officially come in and testify... He appears in the Epstein files next to Jeffrey Epstein and Galain Maxwell almost more than anybody else.' James Wenshaw adds, 'how come people like Howard Ludnik see it seems like they don't want to talk with him? They don't want to talk with the president. They want to they don't want to call in Pam Bondi who has done everything that she can do to cover up and to slow down our investigation.'

Qualified immunity protects a president's actions taken while in office, but it does not extend to crimes committed prior to their presidency or acts of covering up their own crimes. This distinction is crucial in discussions about potential charges against former President Trump.

A guest explains, 'with qualified immunity, what it says is the acts that he did as a president can be protected as a president... This doesn't cover it cuz this nasty stuff he did he did prior to being president as far as these documents go and qualified immunity cannot be used to cover up your own crimes.'
