Institutional media has historically controlled the narrative of who Jesse Jackson is. You've made him to be more controversial than he is than he was. You've made him less multinational than he is.' She highlights the opacity of security clearance decisions, which agencies can use to mask discriminatory practices.

Dunn stated, 'The FBI used my security clearance and the fact that, um, they get to choose who has security clearance to hide behind, uh, a racially motivated act of of taking that clearance. So although I wasn't fired, I was effectively terminated because without clearance, you can't work at the FBI.'
