An etching on a tree read, 'We have found a fine prospect.' A third headless skeleton, believed to be Robert Weir, was found downstream. Police ruled the deaths as starvation and animal predation, a conclusion Charlie disputed.

In 1921, John O'Brien was found 'flash frozen' in a neutral pose, holding a matchbook, despite mild temperatures. Subsequent disappearances and headless discoveries included Phil Powers (burned cabin, dead before fire), William Eper and Joseph Mullholland (missing after cabin burned), and Ernest Sabard (found headless in his sleeping bag).
